Excavators
Excavators are heavy duty vehicles that consist of a cab mounted on top of a rotating platform which in turn sit on top of an undercarriage with large tracks or wheels.
A long articulated arm with a bucket on the end of it is attached to the cab of the excavator. This modern design evolved from the steam shovel of years gone by.
People in construction, industrial and mining operations rely on excavators to do the heavy digging and lifting for them. Excavators are used for digging trenches and holes, moving material, landscaping and demolition. Powerful excavators can cut down the time it takes to accomplish these challenging tasks.
Excavators vary in size and purpose. The potential applications for excavators has expanded over the years as the number of attachments has increased. In addition to traditional buckets, hydraulic powered attachments like breakers, grapples or augers can be used in conjunction with the excavator. Combined with forklifts, cranes, and crawler dozers, any form of large and small scale construction is possible.
